Brass Diya Stand, Stepped (Deepam Metlu)

Details
Deepam metlu, or diya stairs, is a stepped brass stand for lighting a cascade of lamps. Lit, it turns a single corner into a small wall of light, which is why it is a favourite for Diwali, Karthika Deepam and Lakshmi Pooja.
Place it at the entrance, beside the pooja mandir, or on a side table as the centrepiece of your festival decor. Its square footprint fits neatly on a shelf or in a corner.
- Material: brass
- Height: 12 inches
- Length: 12 inches

Care: Let the oil cool, then wipe with a soft dry cloth after each use. To bring back the shine, clean with a brass polish or a paste of tamarind or lemon with salt, rinse, and dry completely.
